“The reason it is so difficult for us to change is that we focus too much on the microcosmic steps, or the “program,” and not enough on changing the perspective that landed us where we are in the first place. Deep and true changes come from the inside out, not the other way around. We can try all different kinds of techniques to #transform ourselves, but unless we address the underlying structure, we are just moving the pieces around. Shift your inner viewpoint, though, and your world transforms.” — @baronbaptisteyoga Last night I stayed up devouring the words of Baron Baptiste from Journey Into Power (our assigned book for #YTT), like he was speaking to me. Every word felt relatable, every word was hitting me at my core. It was giving me chills. 🙏🏼 I wouldn’t have kept my weight off for over 6 years if I didn’t go through my internal #transformation. Yes, physically my body transformed with a diet, and plenty of exercise, and crazy willpower but I stayed on my path because of how I was able to switch my internal conversation with myself. I used to spit hate at myself daily, now I have love for my body, my skin, my cellulite, my stretch marks, and small boobs and big booty, my extra skin on my legs and thighs, the list could keep going. BUT without discovering how to love my body in every way I wouldn’t have been able to maintain my #weightloss. I had tried SO many diets before actually being able to keep the weight off. The difference, I made an internal transformation + an external one. The combo has a lasting effect. Start speaking to yourself out of love, become in love with your natural authentic beauty, your raw self and watch your world transform. My hate I had for my body was holding me back from being able to fully transform even though I wanted to change so badly. Let’s work on changing out inner dialogues while we also work on our physical bodies. How do you learn to love your body you might ask, surround yourself with people who are madly in love with their bodies. We are incredibly in awe of anyone who puts in the time and dedication to lose weight, but the thing that makes our jaws drop is when they’re able to maintain it. Britney lost over 80 pounds and has kept it off for over six years. She says she was able to go through such a massive physical transformation with “diet, and plenty of exercise, and crazy willpower but I stayed on my path because of how I was able to switch my internal conversation with myself.” And that conversation started with love.

Instead of hating on her body every day, looking in the mirror and pointing out the flaws, and being angry that her body didn’t look a certain way, Britney says, “now I have love for my body, my skin, my cellulite, my stretch marks, and small boobs and big booty, my extra skin on my legs and thighs, the list could keep going.” That was the key. Loving her body in every way, and making that internal transformation was what made maintaining her weight loss possible.

Her advice to anyone struggling with losing weight and keeping it off is that while you’re working on changing your physical body, “Start speaking to yourself out of love, become in love with your natural authentic beauty, your raw self and watch your world transform.” And don’t do it alone. Rely on the support of others and “surround yourself with people who are madly in love with their bodies,” so the message of #bodypositivity is so strong, you have to listen.
